ATTENDANCE
A description of the method by which student attendance will be verified and recorded. Student attendance is very important at The Mitchell Academy. If a student is attending a synchronous class via Zoom, final attendance will be taken no later than 5 minutes past the first hour. Rest breaks will take place every 50 minutes. Students are to be back onto Zoom at the top of each instructional hour and are to remain through the duration of the class until dismissed by the instructor. The instructor is not to allow class to be accessed while driving, shopping, or at a sporting event. The instructor will require students to display their cameras to the “on” position at all times, displaying their faces during instruction. Should the student disappear from the Zoom call, an absence is noted and will result in a dismissal from the course. If a student is seen driving, that is an automatic removal. Students are notified in email if they are to retake the course. The contact information of technical support service. Students can reach the instructor on duty for the course if technical problems arise. The Education Director, or other assistant, will be available when the course begins to give students a direct contact for assistance should their technical difficulties prevent them from joining the rest of the class.
